Just simply run the enclosed program with this readme file within
Windows. It's a Windows based self-extracting setup file. Just follow
the prompts and enjoy.
Documentation is a bit sparse, the help file isn't yet fully complete,
although fairly functional, and updates will appear.
The price file enclosed with FoneCost has the new BT prices effective
from 28th June 1995, and the new MERCURY prices, called SMARTCALL,
effective from July 1st 1995, although existing users will start this
tariff on August 1st. You may need to alter the settings for your needs.
Cable users will need to enter their own prices.
NEW FEATURES IN V1.6
====================
New Logging code including multiple selection/delete/save/print etc.
Play .WAV file on disconnect. (Can use different file to connect sound)
Can set FoneCost to ignore modem calls less than between 0-9 seconds.
(added to V1.61) DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) has been re-introduced,
see the help file for more details.
BUG FIXES IN V1.6
===================
The following have been fixed:-
'Cannot assign nil to TFont', when using Printer via FoneCost
Setup program now fully works with Windows '95
A few little buglettes!
BIG FIX FOR V1.61
==================
If accurate timer was used, the warning mechanism wouldn't be activated
, this is now fixed.
Some code in the logging has been altered to try and prevent some users
getting Invalid time & EListBox errors and preventing them seeing the
log file.
UPGRADING FONECOST
==================
Unfortunately time beat me and conversion utilities to convert old ASCII
log files and the configuration files aren't ready. Existing log files
will be untouched, but V1.6 wont be able to import the old log file
format. V1.6 however can also save logs in ASCII for your later viewing
and printing, and is now customisable.
The configuration file 'fonecost.ini' has had to have a few changes made
due to the development tools used. Some of your old settings may not be
carried over (QuickChoices etc. will be) and you may need to reset some
of these settings and resave the setup. Apologies for any problems you
may have.
